The Seventh Edition of the INDIs Awards kicked off on Saturday 21 July, as part of the second INDIs Film Festival which invited aspiring filmmakers or creatives looking to progress to the next step in their careers a chance to meet and network with experts and like-minded artists. 

 

The spectacular four and a half hour showcase of the best independent British cinema was judged live by our jury of independent professionals: Munirat Plummer (We Are Vista), Annabelle Pangborn (Northern Film School), Danny Leigh (Film Critic, The Guardian), Dominic Brunt (Actor, Writer & Director), Jamie Hutchison (Studio12), Noel Goodwin (BFI Future Film Festival), Simon Sumner (The IAC), Bex Wolfendale (Into Film) and Ryan Woods (Leeds City College).

 

The evening awarded the 'Best in 16-19 Age Category' and 'Best in 20-25 Age Category' a £250 prize, sponsored by Leeds City College, as well as the 'IAC Award for Best Overall Film' which also awarded £250 to the winning filmmaker.

This years' INDIs Awards saw over 400 entries, with 12 films making it into the 16-19 Age Category's Official Selection, and 13 making it to the 20-25 Age Category's Official Selection. The INDIs Awards are free to enter, via FilmFreeway each year.
